Why Take A Class With Suzi?
VIDEOS ARE YOURS TO KEEP!
Unlike other online Art Workshops, all Suzi Blu classes can be downloaded to your computer. They are yours to watch anytime. In your underwear, at 3 in morning, from now until you are too old and feeble to handle a computer properly, you can watch the videos. Why do I do this? Because I want you to learn the material. What if I move away to a small fishing village that doesn’t have internet? My lessons will live on in your living room even when I am not around.
I have zero download experience. Is it hard?
If you can right click and save a file to your desktop that is all the experience you need. My videos are compressed as a QUICKTIME MOVIE FILE. If you have any problems viewing the videos here is a free player you can download that will enable you to watch the videos perfectly. Guaranteed.
Beginners and Intermediates Unite!
Classes are designed to help both the novice artist, (you scrap book and make flower wreaths for Christmas but have no formal training), and intermediates, (you draw better than I do). From holding a pencil, to complicated layering techniques, there is something for everyone to learn. We are all passionate about mixed media layering and each one of us is a beginner in this new and exciting realm!
How Long Is My Class Available?
Like a traditional school Les Petit Academy follows a semester. There are three semesters in a year. September - December, January-April, May -August. The classroom you pay for is open to you during the semester you join it. If you start mid semester you only have the remaining months for access to the class. But all my classes are 5 weeks, 5 lessons. You do NOT need 4 months for a five week class. I only do this for convenience. In essence you are buying videos and time allotted for my one on one help. I help every single student who emails me their work. If you join in November you have 2 months to email me your work every single day. Other artists workshops might be available to you all year long but you are not allowed to download the videos nor are you guaranteed personal help.
How do I join your school?
In order to participate in Suzi Blu workshops you must pay your class fees before the class begins. Once paid expect to see 2 invitations in your email box within 24 hours. One is for general membership to the school and one is for your classroom. No one can become a member without first paying for a class. Sometimes invitations get sent to your spam folder so check there before emailing me. If you do not receive your invite email me at suziblu@gmail.com and include your pay pal invoice and I will send your invitation again.
Invitations
Click on the link in the email to join the school and it will prompt you to
make a profile page. Now here is where it gets tricky, I then must approve your page for you to be allowed into the school. I check my email every morning and every evening so between the 2 times it is not long before you are in. Once you are a member you stay a member and any class you pay from here on at will not require any red tape. You’re already inside so boom you are in. Its a little cumbersome with all the accepting the invites at the beginning but its something you only have to do once.
Being a Member has privileges!
One of the best parts of being in school is friendship and support of others. Before I started teaching I found it difficult to meet people who were not only interested in art but were passionate about mixed media. (Mixed what? - they’d say). Once you take a class you are now a permanent member of Les Petit Academy even if you never take another class again (but I hope you do!) With membership you get a profile page in which you can post links to your websites and stores, photos of your work, and you will have your own blog. There is also a member gallery to post your work in with the chance of being featured on the main page. Although I do not mind an occasional portrait of you or your dog, photo posting is geared toward art you have created. Please keep personal photos to a minimum.
A chat room is also available to members of the school. I am not there every night but I pop in a few nights a week (I’m on Pacific Standard Time so remember that). Brenda and Malin can be counted on most nights to welcome people. Brenda is in canada and Malin is in Sweeden, each on an exactly different time schedule (Malin is going to work when we all are going to bed). Having classmates from around the world ensures someone is always available.
Suzi, may I sell the art I make in your class?
Yes, Yes you can! As long as you are not taking my compositions exactly, or using my templates, then of COURSE you can sell your creations. This is a school. What kind of teacher would I be if I taught you a style and then told you not to use it? I love glitter and pretty girls and you do too. The only thing I do not want is for this school to become an advertising sales ground for your online stores. But you absolutely may sell the work you make from the style I teach. Absolutely.
You may submit the work you make in my classes to magazines but do not use the templates I give you or my compositions, those are for teaching purposes only. Apply what you have learned in my classes to your own work. Now, teaching my style in your own Ning Workshop? No, that's not cool. It’s not legal either.
*All course materials are copyrighted by the instructor, Suzi Blu. Several of my online students are also teachers. This does not bother me. Using my course material, network ideas, layout, syllabus and content is inappropriate. It is also inappropriate for you to solicit your classes to any students by way of my network, and to contact members in my network for the sole purpose of soliciting your classes online or otherwise. Les Petit Academy retains the right to expel any student without refund who does not comply with school policies.
